about

At the start of the COVID-19 lockdown these original spontaneous creations launched SIMA’s streaming "A Meditation in Jazz" series on the Facebook and YouTube platforms. The result was a sensational outpouring that touched online audiences with the magic of the duo's creativity. This album captures that music, live, exactly as it was created in the session, emerging as a candid and striking three-part suite.

As titled, we dedicate this album to all of you. We are grateful for your presence and for your companionship, and we are with you in music.

This album was performed and recorded exactly as you hear it, completely improvised, in one continuous sitting, without edits, and from our hearts.

We thank you for travelling with us.

An Update:

We are very happy to announce that All Who Travel With Us received two places in final selections of the APRA AMCOS ART MUSIC AWARDS: for Jazz Album Of The Year & Jazz Work Of The Year.
Here is what the judges said:

Performance of the Year: Jazz/Improvised Music

A celebration of musical connection built upon intuition, imagination and innovation; the panel found this performance to be of an exceptional standard. Palmeiro and Isaacs have distinctive and individual voices as improvisers, and this performance is a wonderful outcome for the years of heart and soul put into their collaboration. They are so attuned to one another that the improvisations performed during "All Who Travel With Us" have the feel and shape of composed pieces that navigate through the boundaries between jazz, classical music, new music and many other genres.

Work of the Year

A captivating performance of improvisation which the panel felt translated into a complete work of real-time composition. "All Who Travel With Us" is a great example of how improvisation can create spontaneous magical moments and a longer journey, the creation of which we are witnessing on the spot, which has the potential to tell us a story. The interaction between the piano and saxophone was highly engaging with weaving melodic lines and shifts in dynamic and intensity. Combined with the richness of their individual sounds, it made for a compelling and enjoyable listening experience.

Our deep thanks to APRA AMCOS and the Australian Music Centre.
